虫害を防ぐため、適当な薫蒸剤を加えて保存することができる。ただし、この薫蒸剤は常温で揮散しやすく、その生薬の投与量において無害でなければならない。また、その生薬の治療効果を障害し、又は試験に支障をきたすものであってはならない。
