聖職者でブロガーのMohammad Ali Abtahiは、キアニ氏の石打ちを命令した裁判官について言及し、司法や宗教的団体から思いとどまるよう働き掛けられていたにもかかわらず、誰かを石打ち刑にするために人が全力を尽くすなど想像すると妙であると言っている。外国人が石打ちに反対しているため裁判官が外国人に反抗してそのような見せしめを命令したという説を、Abtahiは認めていない。外国人が反対しているからといって何かをするのは、むやみに外国人の要求を受け入れるのと同じくらいわれわれの主体性に対する矛盾だ。
Mohammad Ali Abtahi, a cleric and blogger, refers to the judge who ordered the stoning of Mr.Kiani, and says it is very strange to imagine somebody, who despite being discouraged by legal and religious bodies, does his best to get somebody stoned.
